Joining Hamilton Barnes in 2022, I had a clear vision from day one: to move to Malaysia and start my own market there. The company trusted my vision and supported me in every way possible to explore the market. Their belief in my potential was a huge motivator. I committed myself fully to this goal, working insane hours to make it happen. I would get into the office at 6am to align with the APAC time zone and stay until 6pm. The long hours and hard work were challenging, but I was driven by my dream. Eventually, my efforts paid off. I built the market big enough to open our own office in Malaysia. Within a year, we had a fully operational office there. Now, at the age of 25, I manage an office in Malaysia with a team of over 10 people. One of my proudest achievements is being the fastest to ever get promoted to team leader, reaching this milestone in less than two years, whereas the average duration is between three to four years. This accomplishment reflects the incredible opportunities Hamilton Barnes offers for those willing to work hard and pursue their vision. My journey has been nothing short of amazing. When I first joined Hamilton Barnes, I had the opportunity to work in the London HQ for a few months. Seeing the culture firsthand—the energy, the collaboration, and the way everyone supported each other—was an amazing experience. It wasn’t just a workplace; it felt like a community. So when I moved back home to Malaysia to help establish our new office, I knew I wanted to bring that same culture with me. At first, there were just four of us starting up in KL. As the first data entry specialist, it was my responsibility to grow the team—but I never imagined how quickly things would take off. Fast forward a year, and we now have almost 20 people in the KL office, including a dedicated data team of 10. Even though we’ve grown, we’re still a small, tight-knit office, which makes it an exciting place for anyone looking to join. There’s so much room for progression, and every new starter has the chance to make a real impact. Being part of something from the ground up has been incredibly rewarding. We’ve built a team that is not only high-performing but also incredibly close-knit. The experience has shaped my career in ways I never expected, and I’m proud to now be heading up data entry and driving its growth. Looking ahead, I’m excited to keep pushing forward, developing my team, and supporting the company as we continue to expand.
